Trash Falcons Trash Musuem of Trash (TFTMoT) Book Launch
Clio’s Books
April 23, 2026, 7pm

Join Trash Falcons co-founders Dana Berry (Vulture) and Richard Shirk (Magpie), along with Trash Falcons Trash Museum of Trash Chief Curator Rachel Beth Egenhoefer (Egret) to celebrate the launch of the museum’s 162-page masterpiece catalog.  In coordination with SF Climate Week and in celebration of Earth Day, this event features a panel discussion on how neighborhood conservation has built community through the magical adventures and whimsical humor of this group, a curatorial overview of the collection, book signing, and custom “Lake Water” cocktail.

  • Trash Flacons will be tabling in the parking lot before the game along with partners from SF Climate Week and Keep Oakland Beautiful.  

  • Visit the Art Gallery inside the Coliseum to see art made by Trash Falcons and selections from the world famous Trash Falcons Trash Museum of Trash!

  • Join us on the field before the game and during halftime!

What We Saw - art by Trash Falcon Artists
Junior Center of Art & Science
February 13 - April 10, 2026

In partnership with the Junior Center of Art and Science, Trash Falcon artists created special art works for display in the gallery. Some used trash as their medium, others used trash as story, or inspiration. With their location on the shores of Lake Merritt, the Junior Center is a neighborhood of the Trash Falcons and ideal location to share ideas of conservation and stewardship.

February 13 - March 6, 2026

The Trash Falcons of Trash Museum of Trash (TFTMoT) will display the largest exhibition to date at the Junior Center for Art and Science February 9 - March 6, 2026. The Trash Falcons Trash Museum of Trash features amazing and questionably historic items found on weekly Trash Falcons missions — preserving, documenting and sharing the hidden stories in Oakland’s found trash.   

Come see classics from the collection that include The Trash Diamond, Remote Control Alligator Head, Answering Machine Tapes, Scary Plastic Eyeball, Someone’s Teeth AHHHH!, Casket of Destiny, and more! Long time patrons will be excited to see several items that were missing from recent exhibitions back on display to the public including Pewter Trash Wand, Safeway Chris, Trash Rose, Pair of Pliers  – 1519, and others. The museum will also be showcasing new additions to the collection that will be on display for the first time, including Annabelle Goodwin with Four Pick Axes, Ghouls of Christmas Past, Heidi’s Jewels, Michael Jackson’s Skateboard, Spy Bunny Goes to London, Half Spaniel, and other never-before-seen additions.

MLK Day of Service Sidequest
Monday January 20, 2025, 10am

Join Trash Falcons for a Special Day of Service Sidequest honoring Dr. Martin Luther King! We will be cleaning up the Trash Coves between the Rotary Nature Center all the way down to Hocking's Beach by the bandstand (our normal route but breaking right instead of left at the Lake)! There will be extra equipment including the magnet fishing kit.

Trash Falcon Trash Regatta
Saturday, August 24, 2024, 10am-2pm

Join Trash Falcons for a special day out on the water to clean up the lake! We will have magnet fishing, nets, and special grabbers. Picnic begins at 10am at the Picnic Tables near the Children's Memorial Statue (uphill from the boathouse). The sea voyage will being at 11am in boats from the Lake Merritt Boathouse. Ahoy!

The Biggest Earth Day After-Party in Oakland & fundraiser event for Keep Oakland Beautiful (KOB)
Saturday May 4, 2024, 5:00-8:00pm  

You are invited to a fun-filled and inspiring evening celebrating a month of keeping Oakland green through Earth Day events and honoring Keep Oakland Beautiful’s community grant awardees. Join KOB for an outdoor event featuring delicious food and drinks, music, a silent auction, and a moving program highlighting Oakland community members dedicated to beautifying their communities.

Earth Day Beautification at Lake Merritt!
Saturday April 20, 2024, 9:00am - 12:00pm

In collaboration with Keep Oakland Beautiful (KOB),MARK's Artisans, Urban Compassion Project, and other dedicated Oakland community members 

  • Volunteers will be picking up litter around the lake and greening spaces.

  • We'll be staging at the Lake Merritt Bandstand with all necessary cleaning supplies: pick up kits, gloves, vests, bags - all you need to do is show up for the 9AM start.

  • We'll provide water stations so please bring your reusable water bottle.

  • Enjoy a delicious lunch generously catered by C'era Una Volta located in Alameda!
